WHY RISING MOTHER?

Rising Mother simply means that: the Rising of a Mother, Motherhood, Womanhood, the Matriarchal figure, and the Red Medicine Woman. She is you, she is me; she is Powerful, Feminine, Strong, and Creative. Rising Mother is a reflection of myself, my journey, what I needed other women in my life to embody, and so deeply what I want to give to those who enter mine. My practice comes from a WHOLE-ISTIC perspective, returning “Woman to the Womb” - whether that be through FERTILITY, PRECONCEPTION, NUTRITION, PRENATAL EDUCATION, CHILDBIRTH, or POSTPARTUM. All initial consultations are FREE of charge and open to anyone. The door is always open, you just have to walk through.

THE BIRTH SUPPORT YOU DESERVE

As your Doula, I offer full spectrum personalized birthing support. There is no wrong or right way to give birth only what is best for you and your family. My intention is for you to feel safe, supported, and informed to make decisions about your pregnancy, labor and postpartum experience.

"As a Doula, I am always honored to be invited to a birth, to hold space for families to have an empowered and positive birth and postpartum experience."

POSTPARTUM, THE 4th TRIMESTER

As a postpartum doula, my first priority is to ensure that the new parent (mother or primary caregiver) is fully supported to allow for optimal bonding and nurturing. The fourth trimester is typically the 12-week period immediately after baby comes earth side, every parent and their newborn baby will go through it. It is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby adjusts to being outside the womb, and you adjust to your new life as a parent. My goal is to try to lighten the load both emotionally and physically, ensuring that parents inevitably feel at ease transitioning into the postpartum period.

Catrin came to help us at the end of February 2021. I had a scheduled c-section, and I knew I would need help after surgery and with a busy 3-year-old at home. It was a hard time since our families couldn't come to help during the pandemic.

I remember the day Catrin came to our house for the first time. I was in my PJs, very tired and sore, and she came in a happy, strong woman of care and action! She was exactly what I needed! I showed her around the house, and soon she was washing dishes, folding laundry, holding my baby, playing with my little guy, and asking me if she could make me a snack! She worked hard and was so helpful around the house, and my husband was always asking, "When is Cat coming again?" It made a world of difference for us those first few weeks postpartum.

I had a great birth experience thanks to Catrin! This was my husband and I's first child and I was so nervous as I didn’t know what to expect, but the support and knowledge she provided prepared me for labour. It was comforting to have her there the day I went into labour, everyone giving birth should invest in a doula they are well worth the money!

We hired Catrin to be our Birth Doula. Catrin was such a calming and supportive presence both during labour and postpartum. Even before the delivery she made us feel prepared and relaxed by being so available and informative during my third trimester, where she gave us the low- down on what to expect during delivery, took the time to get to know us and our values, helped us create our birth plan, and invited us to reach out to her anytime with questions. She remained warm, calm, and encouraging throughout the delivery, even going so far as to provide support to my partner. We had such a wonderful birthing experience with Cat that we extended our time with her by buying her postpartum package (a must!). She was such a massive support during those first few weeks, I can't even imagine having done it without her. She was so incredibly grounded and easy going that she was a really easy presence to have in our home, and she was so knowledgeable, answering and soothing all my new- mom worries and questions. Cat was respectful, positive, supportive, and reassuring; I always felt relieved when she came over because I knew both my baby and I were in good hands.

We met Catrin the day I went in to labour - she was the back up for my Doula who unfortunately was not able to be with us on time. Even though we hadn't met before, it really didn't matter! Catrin stepped right in and made us feel totally at ease while we were in the hospital. I am a first time mom, so I have nothing to compare it to, but we honestly had a very easy going and relaxing 18 hours while we were together! She answered all of our questions as things came up and helped us to navigate how we wanted the experience to be. It was so helpful to just have someone else there who was experienced, not stressed out and could really offer support to both myself and my husband. I highly recommend Catrin and having a Doula with you for support through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

From our first phone conversation, I knew that Catrin would be essential for the remainder of my pregnancy, labor, and post postpartum. During pregnancy, I could text or call her whenever about whatever and could expect an immediate response. Our prenatal sessions were loaded with useful information ranging from laboring positions to breastfeeding positions and were always fun to boot! During labor, Catrin came to our hospital room and saved the day. My husband had been my support system for 24 hours at that point and was so relieved to have a break. I was rejuvenated to have Catrin's positive and knowledgeable presence in the room with us. When it came to following or deviating from my birth plan, Catrin was equally supportive and in the end, we all had a great birth experience and left with a beautiful and healthy baby boy. Catrin is the best, my husband and I highly recommend her doula services. You will not be disappointed!

I'm so glad we chose Catrin to join us for our birth. This was my first baby and my partner and I had no idea how much we both needed her support. We planned to have a natural birth, but unfortunately this baby had other plans. Ultimately we needed more interventions than I planned on. Catrin was so supportive and knowledgeable throughout the whole birth process. I felt very calm and confident with every decision we made because I knew we had someone who was advocating for us and our birth plan, and was still able to help us make the best decisions for a safe delivery.
